The Supreme Court will hear a special hearing on the petition of noted journalist Vinod Dua on Sunday. Vinod Dua has filed a petition for immediate hearing to prevent arrest in cases against him for spreading rumors to spoil communal harmony.
In the Supreme Court, usually there is no time for early hearing but in the case of Vinod Dua this is happening.
Before this, a case of sedition was registered against Vinod Dua in Himachal Pradesh on Friday.
Vinod Dua himself gave this information through his Facebook update. He wrote, “Himachal Pradesh police arrived at my house at around seven in the morning today (Friday). Gave me a notice and ordered me to attend a police station in Shimla by ten o’clock in the morning (Saturday).”
Earlier on June 4, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police had also registered an FIR against Vinod Dua on the complaint of a BJP spokesperson Naveen Kumar.
